We have a new family living in the culvert in the side yard. The other evening about 1:30 a.m. , we heard some racket out by the birdfeeder. Bruce flipped the outside light on and was greeted by five little faces hanging off the tree. I have a platform feeder that resides on the side of the tree. We think it may have been one of their first adventures out with Mom. Talk about cute..... The picture is a little dark, There is one unaccounted for as he was still hanging off the tree. We had a bunch of bread that we were tossing to them. One of the babies was sharing his with a sibling. We did not see them last night as it was pouring down rain. Speaking of rain... We are due for six or seven inches over the weekend. We just started drying out from the past two floods. I am wondering how all this rain will affect the strawberries. They just came in this past week. We have a wonderful place about five miles from here called "Butternut Farm". It is my favorite place to pick. Since this is a knitting blog, I will show you what I have been working on.
This a Fiber Trend pattern called "Valerie and Friends". I used some Brown Sheep cotton fleece from my stash. This is the third time I have used this pattern. The picture does not show how adorable the back of the bonnet is. It makes such a wonderful gift. One of my customers is having a baby this week. She already knows it is a little girl.I also made her a little roll top cotton hat from some Mission Falls cotton. Rebekah's Yarn Focus Challenge is ending this week. I really enjoyed participating. I ended up only buying yarn on two of the free days. I have made many project out of my stash in the last three months. I am did end up making seven Critter Blankets for her charity drive. It used up a ton of my acrylic. I had found a great pattern for a crochet hexagon blanket. I want to make a few for my local shelter too. I also succumbed to the dishcloth mania. I kept seeing the dishcloth from the Mason-Dixon knitting book. I realized that the pattern is on the back of the Peaches and cream label. Beth had mentioned this is one of her posts awhile ago. What a great little dish cloth. It is a slipstitch pattern and rather addicting. It takes hardly any yarn for the darker color. What a great way to use up scraps. I know I have mentioned before that my sisters love dishclothes. I am going to make a few more of these for Christmas. I have quite a bit of this cotton in my stash too. Onto my next subject..... I would love to pick the brains other knitters who use blogger. I just started using the photo feature in my posts. I had been uploading my pictures to "Hello" and then inserting them. When I use the photo feature on Blogger, the pictures upload in descending order. I then have to copy and paste to get the picture to line up properly. Does anyone know what I mean? I am sure there is something simple that I am overlooking. When I post another picture is goes to the top of the post instead of the bottom. Please drop me a note if you can help. I guess that is all for today. Enjoy your weekend and Happy Knitting.
